If you are hosting a community event, you have probably already thought about things like entertainment and food to make your guests happy. But if you have not yet considered safety and convenience, here are a few services to think about securing:

Security Officers

To make sure that everyone who shows up to the fundraiser is safe throughout the event, it's a good idea to hire security to monitor the area. You can't know exactly who will show up to your event when it's open to the public, and armed security guards will be able to keep a look out for any strange movements and actions that take place. Hire enough security guards so one person can stand in each corner of the event space and two or three can mingle with the crowd as the festivities progress. You'll want to make sure that the company you hire offers liability insurance so if a confrontation does commence, you won't be held responsible if someone is hurt by a guard or if a security guard is hurt by someone else.

A Dumpster Rental

Have a rental dumpster dropped near your fundraising venue so it's easy to keep the trash cans emptied and the ground free of debris throughout the event. You can decorate the dumpster with posters, garland, and tapestries so it blends in with the rest of the environment, and then have a couple of volunteers empty the trash cans that are spread throughout the event into the dumpster once an hour or so to ensure that they don't get overfilled. Once the event is over, you should be able to clean up any remaining garbage quickly and then simply call to have the dumpster picked up by the company you rented it from.

A Babysitting Crew

If you're allowing guests to bring children along with them to the event, consider hiring a couple of babysitters to watch them in a designated area to ensure that they stay safe while their parents have fun. Set up a children's area in the corner of your event space and section it off with thick ropes. Then put some toys and books in the sectioned area along with a comfortable chair for the babysitter to use while they're on duty. Parents can leave their kids at the ropes and sign them in, then return to get them when they're ready to leave the event.
